Ever wonder how some Eagles and Chiefs players compare to the essential elements of pool care? Probably not, but I’m giving it to you anyway!
Here’s a look at how the starts of the Super Bowl match up with pool chemistry parameters and chemicals.
Patrick Mahomes: Chlorine
Just as chlorine is essential for a clean and healthy pool, Patrick Mahomes is essential for the Chiefs offense.
Chlorine eliminates harmful bacteria and helps keep the water balanced, and Mahomes eliminates defenses and keeps the Chiefs offense thriving.
Whether he’s scrambling to make a play or delivering in the clutch, Mahomes ensures that everything stays crystal clear and under control. Without him, both your pool and the Chiefs would be in trouble.
Travis Kelce: Total Alkalinity (TA)
Just like a balanced total alkalinity (TA) prevents pH from fluctuating, Travis Kelce’s consistency keeps the Chiefs from spiraling out of control.

Like CYA protects chlorine from the sun’s harsh rays, the OL shields the Eagles offense with their ability to block and extend plays for Jalen Hurts.
Without a good offensive line, Hurts and the rest of the Eagles offense needs to work harder. Likewise, without CYA your chlorine needs to work harder.
Saquon Barkley: pH
Balance is key, both in football and in a pool. Saquon barkley provides balance in the Eagles offense.
Without him, the team struggles to function, much like a pool becomes hard to manage with unbalanced pH.
Whether he’s breaking tackles, catching passes, or running for 2,000+ yards, Barkley brings equilibrium to the Eagles’ game.
A.J. Brown: Shock Treatment
When your pool is in trouble, shocking the pool will help bring it back to healthy conditions. And when your offense is in trouble, A.J. Brown will help bring it back to life.
Brown is an instant game changer. You might not need him all the time, but he can deliver a big catch at any moment to swing momentum back to the Eagles.
Coach Nick Sirianni: Saltwater Generator
Coach Sirianni has had an interesting tenure with the Eagles. You could probably be just as good without him, but all he does is win. In the long run, he’s a great leader and brings a culture you need to have a winning organization.
Saltwater generators are the same thing. Manual chlorinating methods work just fine, but a saltwater generator certainly makes it much easier.
Do you need it? Not necessarily. It’s a different way to chlorinate, but it just works.
Predictions
The Chiefs are at the point where the regular season is boring and they just want to get to the playoffs. In fact, they probably could have had 7 – 8 losses this year if a few bounces didn’t go their way.
The Eagles, on the other hand, have been dominant on both sides of the ball seemingly all season.
At some point, the magic needs to wear off for the Chiefs. They just keep winning no matter the circumstances.
I think this is where the tide turns for Chiefs Kingdom. Saquon goes off for 150+ rushing yards and keeps Mahomes off of the field just enough for the Eagles to run out the clock.
